Possibly. While the program was designed to help with food cravings and eating behaviors, the 8-week sessions also include mindfulness practices related to stress management, emotional awareness, and self-regulation. Even if you don’t struggle with emotional or stress-related eating, you might still find some parts of the program personally useful.
First, you’ll get free access to an 8-week mindfulness-based intervention program that usually requires payment. Second, as a thank-you for your time and participation in the study, you’ll have the chance to win prizes through two separate raffles. If you complete at least 7 sessions, you can choose to enter a lottery for several prizes. The first lottery includes 5 x €30 e-vouchers, 15 x €20 vouchers, and 19 x €15 vouchers. If you complete all the questionnaires, including the 6-month follow-up, you’ll automatically be entered into another lottery. The second lottery includes 20 x €15 vouchers.
As part of our study, some participants will be randomly selected to take part in EEG (electroencephalography) sessions. EEG is a safe, non-invasive, and painless method used to measure your brain’s electrical activity.
During the EEG session, you will wear a special cap fitted with small sensors that detect brainwave patterns. These sensors do not send anything into your brain — they only record what’s already there, much like a microphone records sound. We will conduct the EEG measurements twice: once before the 8-week mindfulness program, and once after. This helps us explore how mindfulness training may influence your brain’s activity over time. Participation in the EEG part is based on random assignment. If you are selected, we’ll provide all the information and answer any questions before the session begins.
